History repeats itself as another Liss takes charge. Morton's son, Jon Liss, followed in his father's footsteps and became president of National Camera Exchange in 1978. In the 1980s, as single-lens reflex (SLR) and video cameras became increasingly popular, National Camera had to look for a new home in which to expand. In 1985, Jon commissioned the design of a unique two-story office, retail and warehouse space. The new building, designed to resemble a camera, was constructed just a block away from the existing Golden Valley store. Over the next several years, Jon continued the expansion, adding stores in Burnsville, Edina, Roseville, and downtown Minneapolis. He also started National Camera Exchange's popular photography classes, responding to his customers' desires to learn more about the equipment they were purchasing.National Camera Exchange receives the "Integrity Award"
