Does Your
Camera Eat Batteries By The Handful?
A Simple Solution For Power Hungry Cameras.
When you got your new digital
camera the helpful people behind the counter probably told you how fast it would chew
through batteries. Even so, it's hard to believe that anything could really eat them up that
fast, and you didn't get the extra set they suggested. Did you?
When the first set of batteries
went dead in no time at all you thought, "I probably just got a bad set..." When
the second set went dead you started to wonder. And now after countless sets you wonder
how much it's going to cost to keep taking pictures!
Fortunately there is a simple
solution. Rechargeable 'AA' batteries. New technology has made them a real solution for
digital cameras. The old style nickel-cadmium (ni-cad) batteries were fraught with
troubles. They needed to be fully discharged before recharging. They needed to be fully
charged before using them. They developed a 'memory', a polite word meaning that after a
relatively short period of time they could no longer be fully charged or fully discharged,
until finally they could not be charged, or discharged, at all!
The new style nickel-metal-hydride
(nimh) batteries have none of these problems. Leave them on the charger until you need
them, charge them when you're done - even if they still have a charge left!
Most people buy two sets. One set
is left on the charger, the other set in the camera. Rotate them as needed.
