DESCRIPTION:Street Photography at Saint Anthony Main with Leica\nPhoto Walk // August 6\, 2023\n  \nJoin Leica product educators Matt Butzow and John Kreidler for a walk around St. Anthony Main on Sunday\, August 6th. St. Anthony Main is located right on the Mississippi River\, and is a little pocket of Northeast Minneapolis worth exploring for street photography and historical architecture. From its cobblestone road to historic theater\, cafes and views of downtown\, St. Anthony Main offers a variety of opportunities to enhance your street photography skills. \nWe’ll meet up near The Main Cinema (formerly St. Anthony Main Theatre) on SE Main St at 9am for orientation and a brief instruction period before heading out to capture images around the neighborhood. Our team of experts will offer guidance on camera settings and lens choices\, as well offer tips on how to create strong compositions through storytelling. \nA select amount of loaner gear will be provided by Leica\, featuring the SL2-S + 24-70mm f/2.8 camera kits—if you intend to borrow gear during this event\, please be sure to arrive during the check-in window\, as loaner gear is limited and will be available on a first-come\, first-served basis. Please note: You must have a valid driver’s license to check out Leica gear. After our initial meetup\, you’ll be free to explore the area on your own or stick around the experts for more guided\, personalized advice. Whatever you need\, we’re here to help!  \nJoin us for an in-store demo with Leica following the photo walk at our store in Golden Valley. This workshop is great for beginners and intermediate photographers who want to take their portrait photography to the next level. \nWe will begin with an overview of the foundational aspects of exposure settings\, white balance\, depth of field and lens focal length and how they work together to create a dynamic image. Additionally\, understanding the impact of lighting is crucial for creating successful portraits. We will talk about the quality of light\, light modifiers and the best time of day to plan your portrait session. After the presentation\, Becky and Taylor will take things up a notch\, giving you a hands-on demonstration of posing techniques. Plus\, they’ll dish out some extra tips on how to effectively communicate with your subjects\, helping you capture the exact shots you’re aiming for.  \nFinally\, we will have models on site for the last segment of the workshop to put what you have learned into practice\, with Becky and Taylor to assist you along the way.
