Shooting the night sky can seem daunting for the beginner. The mistake many make is thinking they immediately have to go out and buy a large telescope. Nico Carver, an experienced astrophotographer, will lead participants through a short workshop on how to use normal photography gear for capturing images of the stars.
In this workshop, Nico Carver will demystify the process and show you that with just a tripod, a DSLR or mirrorless camera, and a fast lens, you can start taking stunning shots of the night sky. You’ll learn the essential techniques and settings required to capture the beauty of the milky way, constellations, and even nebulae and galaxies.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have gained the knowledge and confidence to go out and capture stunning images of the night sky. Whether you’re a beginner or an enthusiast looking to refine your skills, this workshop is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of astrophotography. We will wrap things up with a short Q&A at the end of the workshop—be sure to bring your questions!

Nico Carver Bio:
Nico Carver has always been a camera nut. After graduating college with a degree in filmmaking, he traveled around the world and first fell in love with photographing the night sky while shooting Aurora in Iceland. He now works full-time in astrophotography education, and runs a successful YouTube channel that aims to help beginners get started with Astrophotography.
