Join us for an evening Photo Walk at Eastman Nature Center on Saturday, May 20th from 6pm-7:30pm. Led by Swarovski Optik Senior Naturalist Market Manager Clay Taylor and Swarovski Optik Field Support Representative Blake Newman; you will learn how you can use a spotting scope to capture amazing wildlife photos with either your smartphone or a digital SLR.
If you shoot with a DSLR or Mirrorless Camera, you’ll be thoroughly impressed with the results that come from turning the spotting scope into a 1300-3000 mm telephoto within seconds. Bring your big tele lens so you can compare!
This event will be held rain or shine, so please dress accordingly and wear comfortable shoes. Be prepared to walk approximately one mile throughout the duration of the event. Don’t forget to bring your phone!
This is part of a two-day Swarovski Optik event that includes in-store demos, a morning nature walk and an evening photo walk. Visit us in-person for fun educational opportunities, demos, and giveaways. Meet with the Swarovski Optik experts in person and bring your questions!

Biography:
Clay Taylor started photography in the 1970s, shooting auto racing with Nikon cameras while also bringing his telephoto lenses out into the woods for wildlife photography. In the 1980s he became hooked on birding and bird photography, eventually leading tours and giving programs. While working at an outdoor store in the 1990s, he was hired by Swarovski Optik to represent the Birding Market for the introduction of the EL Binocular and attending the many birding festivals across the US and Canada. A particular interest was using his 35mm SLR, and then Digital SLR, to shoot photos through the different Swarovski Optik spotting scopes. Many festivals later and now the Senior Naturalist Market Manager, he uses the NL Pure binoculars for viewing, while shooting spotting scope photos at up to 3000mm with his Olympus EM-1 MkIII, Sony a7III, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
