Spring offers unique photographic opportunities—animals are more active, and the energy of the season brings new life to every scene.This three-part workshop is designed for photographers of all skill levels, combining educational instruction, hands-on shooting, and expert feedback to help you capture compelling images and elevate your photography.

Part I: Online Seminar
Thursday, May 14th • 6–7:30pm
We’ll kick off the workshop with a live online seminar led by NCE photo expert Katelynne. She’ll cover lens selection, composition techniques, and strategies for photographing through fences and glass. The seminar will run approximately one hour, followed by an open Q&A—bring your questions!
Both online portions of the workshop will be recorded for your convenience and available to review as many times as you like for 30 days.
Part II: In-Person at MN Zoo
Saturday, May 16th • 10am–3pm
Put what you learned into practice during this hands-on session at the Zoo, with guidance from Katelynne and additional NCE staff.

Part III: Online Image Review
Thursday, May 21st • 6–7:30pm
We’ll wrap up the workshop with an online image review, where you’ll receive feedback from NCE photo experts.

Registration Fee: $80
Your registration fee includes all three parts of the workshop, as well as parking and Zoo admission. Tickets are limited, so we encourage early registration. Registration closes Wednesday, May 13 at 4pm.

Both online portions of the workshop will be hosted on Webex, accessible directly from your browser—no download required. For the best experience, we recommend using Chrome or Firefox. Please plan to join up to 10 minutes early to ensure a smooth connection and allow time for any troubleshooting.

Participants will have the option to join a GroupMe chat for the in-person portion of the workshop. Instructions for joining will be included in your event email sent on Wednesday, May 13.
