Like typical wireless systems, the DJI Mic 3 receiver allows you to choose between mono and stereo recording modes. Where the new system expands upon its predecessor is the ability to expand your audio ecosystem. In Quadraphonic mode, the receiver, in tandem with select Sony cameras and computer software and using the separately available camera adapter, can output four audio tracks for flexible mixing. While this system includes two transmitters and one receiver, the receiver itself can support up to four transmitters at one time. It can also sync audio to seven additional receivers for a virtually infinite wireless array useful in group interview or multi-camera productions.

Internal batteries on the receiver and transmitter units keep the system all day. Power-saving features on each component like automatic sleep mode, automatic power off, and simultaneous use while charging your smartphone help stretch this battery life even further. The included charging case stores all of the components inside and extends the system’s total battery life up to 28 hours.
